Gen Z, Other Kenyans Occupy Uhuru Park To Honour Those Killed During Protests

Gen Zs and Millennials have thronged Uhuru Park in their numbers for a memorial concert in honour of protesters killed during anti-Finance Bill these past two weeks.

July 7, popular as Saba Saba, is also an important day in the fight for the country’s second liberation and the event will be used to reflect on Kenya’s history.

The event, dubbed Shujaaz Memorial Concert, has also brought on board people outside the two generations who have committed to supporting the course.

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja okayed the use of Uhuru Park for the memorial concert.

Gates to the venue opened from 9am amid tight security.

Organisers of the concert were led by activitst Boniface Mwangi whereby the event got underway some minutes to 3pm starting with the National Anthem.

Several artists were present in the event and performed.
