State House Says No Rift Between Ruto And Gachagua

State House has dismissed reports that President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua are not on talking terms.

State House spokesperson Hussein Mohammed was responding to questions during a media briefing on Ruto’s upcoming trip to the US when he said the two leaders have no issue.

“To the best of my knowledge, there is no issue between the President and his Deputy,” Hussein said.

“The Deputy President’s office is an office with all capabilities and competencies. If you want to ask any question or find out anything about the Deputy President, you can get it there.”

The alleged absence of DP Gachagua from key state functions has fueled the reports thus raising concerns among Kenyans.

Gachagua appeared on Sunday in public at a church service in Nyeri after a week of silence in the country.

His whereabouts had raised questions, especially after missing 11 state functions over the period.

His absence was total during Ruto’s reception of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on a state visit.

Leaders at the church service which the DP attended vowed that they would not allow anybody to create bad blood between Ruto and Gachagua.

Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga said the leadership of Mt Kenya will not allow a few individuals to sow a rift between the two.
