Detectives on Saturday 21st November 2020, arrested 44 school children and their host and seized various brands of alcohol and bhang in a house at Nairobi’s Mountain View Estate

The school-going children comprised of 26 boys and 18 girls, aged between 14 and 17 years.
Their host, Millicent Kithinji, aged 41, was picked up for questioning by police officers from Kabete police division. Police also want to establish why the woman had hosted the children and how the children got to her house.
The Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) seized different brands of alcohol and bhang. Initial investigations revealed the children were from Nairobi, Kiambu and Machakos counties.
Already, officers have contacted some of their parents. Investigations are ongoing to establish how the children sneaked out of their homes and traveled that far without raising any suspicion from their parents
The DCI once again urges parents to take a keen interest in their children’s activities at home and on social media networks. Stern action legal action will be taken against adults who abuse children.
