Sakaja, Igathe Exchange Words during Gubernatorial Debate

The inaugural gubernatorial debate that was held yesterday saw candidates throw jabs at each other. The debate that was held at Catholic University of Kenya was moderated by Zubeida Koome and Mark Maasai.

Th debate initially started at 8pm with Polycarp Igathe having the first fifteen minutes to himself as his opponent Sakaja was late.

When the debate began Igathe threw the first jab accusing Sakaja of being a school drop out  and presenting wrong documents, he further asked Kenyans to compare Sakaja’s current academic documents to the one he presented to IEBC in 2017 claiming they were not similar.

Sakaja retaliated that he was qualified and stated that he would even make his degree  available to the public for those interested in seeing it.

They both proceeded to attack each other’s integrity with Igathe claiming that he has evidence on false documents that were signed by senator Sakaja.

Sakaja proceeded to accuse the jubilee candidate that he was being funded by shady people and that he would provide the evidence o his twitter account come July 12th

Th UDA candidate further accused his competitor of being soft hence his resignation five months into work, he said that Igathe’s decision to quit led the formation of NMS and impeachment of former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.

“I fell on my sword and failed to earn the trust of those I was with”, Igathe said promising to serve the people and build a better Nairobi if elected.
