Israel pledges to support agricultural activities in Nyamira County

Israel has pledged to support Nyamira County in advancing its agricultural activities in the county.

On Wednesday, Minister Counselor, Head of Economic Mission to Kenya Arnon Abel visited Nyamira County in a renewed energy for partnership between Israel and the County Government of Nyamira County.

The Israeli delegation was received by CEC in charge of Agriculture, Livestock and​​ Fisheries Peris Mong’are and held discussions before visiting several projects across the county.

“This visit is aimed at exploring several areas of partnership including sharing on agricultural and medical technology,” said Abel.

The CEC for agriculture shared with Israel’s mission on a wide range of investment opportunities available. He (Arnon Abel) expressed confidence in the many opportunities available for Israel’s participation and more particularly singled out the upcoming Integrated Agro-Industrial Business Park in Sironga that will provide numerous opportunities to work upon.

The head of the mission also encouraged the County Government of Nyamira to invest more in technology in the agricultural and healthcare sector.

He was also embraced by the extent to which the county is aggressively pursuing programs that will ensure a boost in those areas.

The CEC for Trade, Tourism, Industry and Co-operative Development also shared the available opportunities in the department of trade, saying that the county government is ready to work with Israel on various programs.

“As a growing county, we invite the embassy to support the water projects to aid the county’s objective in achieving increased access to clean and safe water for agriculture, domestic use and industrialization,” said Samwel Maiko who is the CEC for Water Environment and Natural Resources.

Maiko also shared with them about the county government’s plans in the provision of water to its residents, he also stated the progress in some of the ongoing water projects in the county.

Chief office Agriculture Lydia Momanyi, Director David Munyi, Nathaniel Mong’are- The investments and Economic advisor were also present. Mong’are promised further engagements with the embassy and acknowledge Arnon Arbel for the commitment.
