A teenager and an old woman have committed suicide under unclear incidents in Narok North and Transmara East sub-counties.
In the first occurrence, the body of 18-year-old Brian Samaito Mateu was found on Friday dangling from a rope in his parents’ house at Nkokolani village in Narok North sub-county.
According to Narok county police commander Kizito Mutoro, it was uncertain of what pushed the teenager to commit suicide.
Samaito had just completed Form 4 from Masikonte Secondary School and was waiting to join college.
Mutoro confirmed that police have started investigations to determine the reason for the death.
The deceased teenager was taken to Narok County Referral Hospital mortuary ahead of postmortem.
Meanwhile, in the other occurrence, the body of 77-year-old Juliana Cheptanui Sirwa was discovered dangling from a rope in her house in Kabuson Village, Transmara East sub-county.
Sirwa is said to have been battling throat cancer for a while, however, the incident is still under scrutiny.
The deceased woman was taken to Kapkatet Hospital mortuary in Kericho county ahead of postmortem.
