Nairobi City Park market is now ready for tenancy.
The Housing department today through a notice made it public that the restoration works have been finished.
The department remarked that the 689 traders that are as of now trading inside the market will be allocated the stalls.
It clearly outlined the names of the sellers and their ID numbers.
The department also included the various type of businesses which range from groceries, M-Pesa shops, boutiques, cyber cafes, fruit stalls to barbershops that the traders were undertaking.
Michuki Memorial Park’s and City Park are among the green spaces in Nairobi that have been renovated.
City Park which was established in the 1930s is located off Limuru road between Parklands and Muthaiga has had numerous clean-up activities.
The park also serves as a burial site for freedom fighter Pio Gama Pinto and the second vice president Joseph Murumbi.
This comes after President Uhuru Kenyatta’s directive to the Environment Ministry and Nairobi Metropolitan Services during World Environment Day.
The President asked them to get back the park and safeguard it.
