The courts have ruled to retain custody of four suspects linked to the lynching of four elderly women in Marani Kisii County over the weekend.
Kisii Senior Resident Magistrate Paul Mutui allowed an application by the prosecution to detain the four for 10 days.
The four will be detained at Rioma Police station.
During the period, the prosecution will carry out post mortem examination on the four bodies and the mental assessment report of the suspects.
The matter will be mentioned on October 29, 2021.
The four suspects Amos Nyakundi Ondieki, Chrispine Ogeto Mokua, Peter Angwenyi Kwanga and Ronald Ombati Onyonka were arrested on Monday and spent the night at Kisii Police Station.
They will be represented by Lawyer Shaffin Kaba.
