Four people have passed away due to a road accident along the Nairobi- Mombasa Highway at Mlolongo, Machakos County.
According to Mlolongo Assistant County Commissioner Dennis Ongaga, the victims died instantly after a matatu they were travelling in collided with a stationary trailer opposite Total petrol station today morning.
The MAPRA Sacco matatu with registration number KCN 289 P was on its way to Nairobi when the incident occurred.
“It’s reported that about 4:53 am at Mombasa Road opposite Total Petrol station a matatu has crushed from behind a stationery Trailer. Four passengers onboard in the matatu are confirmed dead,” Ongaga confirmed.
Ongaga said he was yet to determine the number of those seriously injured in the crash adding that Athiriver Subcounty Police Traffic Base Commander had been sent to the accident scene.
