Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has cleared 11 individuals who will
contest in Kiamokama Ward by-election slated for March 4.
The Kisii County Returning officer Dr Sidney Namulungu said the 11 will vie the seat following
the death of former MCA Kennedy Mainya.
"We have cleared eleven out of thirteen candidates who showed interest to run for the seat," said
Dr Namulungu.
However, two candidates were rejected for they did not comply with IEBC requirements.
Among the 11 candidates, one will run as an independent candidate.
The candidates include; Narc Kenya's Peter Birundu, Independent candidate Vincent Gekone,
ODM's
Malack Mainya, Moses Nyandusi (UDA), Joseph ouko (RLP) and Stephen Nyakerika (TND)
Others are Daniel Ondabu (PED, Nyakundi Nyamori (MCC, Dominic Nyangaresi (KNC), Jared
Nyaega Omeke (Mark) and Charles Ondari Omwenga of PEP.
