Kenya Airways Cancels Two Dubai Flights Over Heavy Downpour

Kenya Airways on Tuesday, April 16, cancelled a flight into and out of Dubai following heavy rains that left the Dubai Airport flooded.

In a statement from the KQ, the Middle East country experienced heavy storms that disrupted  operations to and from the airport.

On Tuesday, a heavy storm left Dubai Airport flooded and at least 18 dead in Oman.

This led to a 25-minute suspension of operations and more than 50 flights cancelled.

“We are monitoring the situation and are in close contact with Dubai authorities to minimise the inconvenience and disruption to our customers’ travels,” KQ said, apologising to its customers for the inconveniences.

Those affected have been advised to contact KQ customer support lines.

The widespread flooding was witnessed around the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain leaving shopping centres like Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates flooded.

The Dubai Metro station, residential areas and other roads in the desert country were flooded.
