Key Government Institutions Ranked The Worst In Performance-Infotrak

Kenyans are dissatisfied with the work done by key government institutions, according to the new Infotrak data.

The data released on Monday shows that the Opposition, Judiciary and Parliament have all scored a D grade.

The opposition was rated at 47 per cent, the judiciary at 46 per cent and the parliament at 42 per cent.

The majority of Kenyans voted that the institutions’ performance was very poor, with only a few rating them as excellent.

The scores per rates were as follows, respectively for the opposition, judiciary and both houses of the Parliament.

Very poor; 18 per cent, 17 per cent and 21 per cent, poor; 30 per cent, 32 and 33 per cent.

Further, 30 per cent and 33 per cent of Kenyans rated the institutions as average, with 16, 13 and nine per cent rating them as good.

Seven per cent of the interviewees said the opposition’s performance was excellent with four per cent rating the judiciary as such and three per cent for the parliament.

On average, the institutions performed a D of 45 per cent.

The quantitative interviews were conducted through Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews (CATI).

The survey achieved a sample of 1,700 respondents to represent the universe of adult Kenyans who were 18 years and above at the time of the survey.

There was a +2.5 at a 95 per cent degree of confidence with a 92 per cent response rate.

The survey which covered all the 47 counties and 8 regions of Kenya as conducted on May 23-29.
