Kisii County Governor James Ongwae has today signed the supplementary budget to enable his administration to implement government programmes.
The supplementary budget comes in the wake of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic which severely affected the county’s revenue streams, calling for requisite adjustments.
Equally, counties have had the challenge of late disbursement of funds from the exchequer, besides the reduced revenues due to tax waivers the county accorded to cushion traders.
In the new supplementary budget, the devolved unit has realigned her priorities to key areas including; water, roads, health services, urban infrastructural development, agriculture and fixing a tartan track at the Gusii Stadium.
“I thank the county assembly for working closely with the executive to realise the supplementary budget and continued support in service delivery,” said Ongwae.
