Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua was this morning arrested at his Nyeri home.
Rigathi was picked up by DCI (Directorate of Criminal Investigations) officers at around 4 am and driven to Nairobi.
It is not clear why he has been arrested but Gachagua, but an ongoing investigation into the source of Ksh.12.5 billion that flowed through his accounts is at the centre of his woes.
“I have done legitimate businesses with the National Government and other people, when the matter comes up for mentioning next month, I will account for every cent I have made,” the MP said on Tuesday.
A year ago, the High Court froze more than Sh200 million in his bank accounts which were both at Rafiki Micro Finance Bank.
