A Nyamira mana who allegedly killed his mother and left her body on her bed has finally been arrested by the police.
The deceased Catherine Moraa Oruchu was found dead on Sunday morning and after the police visited the scene, it was established that she had bruises on her face and blood was oozing from her nostrils.
According to the Nyamira County Commissioner Amos Mariba, It was suspected that her son, James Orucho, 65 strangled her at night. James was later arrested and will be arraigned to court.
“It seems the suspect allegedly murdered his mother at night and laid her body on her bed because the body was discovered on Sunday morning,” said Mariba in a statement.
The incident took place at Maagonga Village Bosaragei location of Nyamira North Sub-County in Nyamira County.
“The suspect was arrested and is in police custody awaiting to be arraigned in court to answer the relevant charges. Such cases are rampant in the county and we call upon various families to look for ways to solve misunderstandings instead of going in such a direction,” Mariba said in a statement.
The deceased body was moved to Our Lady of Mercy Ibara Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem, as police are investigating the matter through questioning the suspect.
