A police officer attached to Deputy President William Ruto’s private residence is admitted to a hospital in critical condition after he was attacked by a gardener.
Th gardener who was arrested after assaulting Corporal Timothy Mugenda Rucha who is attached to the private residence of Deputy President William Ruto in Nairobi had arrived home late before picking a fight with officers at the gate.
The gardener identified as Nicholas Rono then hit Mr. Timothy on the rear of his head with a rungu.
The officer fell down unconscious before his colleagues rushed to his help.
They then pinned down Rono and handcuffed him before calling for reinforcement.
The DP was not present at the time of the incident on Thursday morning and the officer was rushed to Nairobi West Hospital with severe head injuries.
Mr. Rono was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in court.
