Villagers of Nyamakoroto in Kitutu Masaba Nyamira County woke up to a rude shock of learning that a couple had been hacked to dead in their home.
A U.S resident identified as Edward Morema and his wife Grace Morema were found murdered in the home today morning.
Masaba North Deputy Commander Robert Ndambiri confirmed the incident and said that police have launched investigations into the gruesome murder.
Commander Ndambiri added that they have already held in custody two employees, a maid and a farm worker, who will provide information for the probe.
“It seems the criminals first captured them, tied their hands then later gagged their mouths so that they could not scream for help. We think they died as a result of excessive bleeding,” he said.
The body of Morema, 63, was found lying outside the house with deep cuts on the head while that of his wife Grace, 60, was found in the bedroom with deep cuts on the neck. Both bodies were tied on the hands. The bodies have since been moved to KTRH awaiting postmortem.
