A 22-year-old James Arumba has killed his mother by strangulation in Kenyenya Bomachoge Borabu Kisii.
Arumba had been threatening his mom Teresa Moragwa to divide her land and give him his share so he can sell it and buy a motorcycle for bodaboda services.
At some point, Arumba had chased his mother from their rural home.
When she came back last evening, the suspect went into the house, asked her to divide the land and when she said no, Arumba took a cloth line wire and strangled her to death.
It’s alleged that his uncle had already sourced for a potential buyer and has been pushing Arumba to demand his share of land so he can sell it.
Kisii County Commander Jebel Munene says they intensified the search for the suspect.
“We will get hold of him. The community is fast losing the elderly because of land conflicts,” he said.
