Two More Kisii MCAs charged with 5 Million Malicious Damage of Property

Two other Kisii Members of the County Assembly have been charged in court for destroying property valued at Sh 5 million at the County Headquarters.

The two Joseph Chweya and James Anunda were arrested on Thursday morning after protesting the decision by the embattled speaker to close the Assembly.

They were accused that on December 8, 2020, at around 5 pm at Kisii County Government premises together with others yet to be arrested they damaged the main entrance door, window panes and status glass all valued at Sh 5 million property of Kisii County Government.

They were all released on a cash bail of Sh 50,000.

Five vehicles were destroyed during the chaos. The fights are as a result of an impeachment motion that was filed at the Assembly against Speaker David Kombo.Yesterday, nominated MCA Eric Janganya was also charged with the same crime.

Incidentally, the three accused had their cars smashed during the Tuesday chaos.
