A mother in Uasin Gishu County is seeking justice for her 5-year-old daughter who is alleged to have been defiled by her cousin.
The mother had taken her daughter for the holidays to visit her grandmother in the village and left her with her when the incident happened.
“I travelled to the village upon hearing of the defilement case of my daughter, and my child is not a child anymore. She is in pain and has lost her smile.” The mother said.
What is surprising is that the family members knew about the incident and the defilement which happened several times but decided to keep it a secret and under the rags. They conspired to transport the suspect back to Kitengela in Nairobi in a relative’s house who resides in the United Kingdom when they knew I was travelling back to the village.
“My child has not healed and from her face, she is in pain and her walking style has changed. She is not jovial anymore nor will she be a child as she has nightmares and screams in her sleep.” The mother narrated in agony. She continued by saying, “Her private parts are ‘big’ and she cannot hold her wastes both urine and faeces and I am forced to use sanitary towels always.”
She reported the matter to the police station and was advised to travel to Nairobi where the suspect was.
She reported the written OB to Kitengela police station where they asked her to get a medical report for her child and was accompanied by the police to the relative’s home only to find the suspect had been moved to Kisii County by the father.
The case was reported to Kisii Police post, IPOA, DCI but the suspect is missing at large.
“All I ask is justice for my daughter.” The mother said.
