Governor Ongwae comes to the rescue as leaders clash

Kisii Governor James Ongwae was forced to intervene and have two fighting legislators in Kisii calm down as they fought over their political supremacy in Bomachoge Chache.
Ongwae carried the day and called on the leaders; Sylvanus Osoro (South Mugirango) and Simba Arati (Dagoreti North) to stop their theatrics and allow the family mourn the deceased; Abel Gongera, father to Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi.
The Governor said the Gusii Community is known to have peaceful leaders. “Don’t follow some people blindly. Listen to our elders and allow them to give us direction.”
In his speech, Arati who is a staunch supporter to ODM party leader Raila Odinga told Deputy President William Ruto to avoid bad company. “The people you walk around with are not the true image of our community.”
An Irritated Osoro jumped to the podium but was shoved down by Arati’s security men. Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga who also tried to go after Arati was repulsed and forced back to his seat.
Raila could later address mourners. “Let us support the BBI Bill and learn to respect one another.”
The former Premier later left the venue for Kisii town where he received a gallant reception calling on his supporters to maintain peace and continue agitating for change in the country.
