A Matatu conductor dies under unclear circumstances in lodging

Police in Nairobi are investigating a case of a third conductor who was found dead after sleeping at Dreamland Guest House.

Bernard Mwendwa Musyoka was a member of the third party of Indimanje.

Mwendwa’s family suspect a dirty game was played leading to his death.

His sister confirmed that his body had injuries and he was bleeding from his mouth.

The Dreamland Guest House lodging staff found the body in the morning while doing their rounds.

The late Bernard Mwendwa Musyoka also known as Boy or Swaleh was a regular customer in the lodging located in the poor slums of Mukuru-Reli, a small county of Starehe.

Confirming the incident, Makadara Police Chief Timon Odingo said, the 30-year-old had arrived at the place on Saturday, August 28.

He was to clock out the following day but didn’t make it for he was found dead in his room.

The administrator, Joel Mustapha said, Mwendwa arrived around 3 p.m. and complained he was ill.

He asked for water so he could swallow medicine and headed to his bedroom with a man identified as Mwala, who is an avocado dealer.

The following morning, Mustapha said Mwala woke up and left without saying whether or not his partner had died.

The family has asked the police to look into the matter so that justice prevails.
