Azimio leader Raila Odinga has called upon his supporters to be ready for the anti-government protests after failed bipartisan talks.

Speaking during a memorial service of the late chairman of the Luo Council of elders Mr Opiyo Otondi in Nyahera, Kisumu County, Mr Odinga said the Kenya Kwanza regime is not sympathetic to the suffering of Kenyans. He also condemned a section leaders from Nyanza that support this government.

The leader said that Kenya Kwanza team is not sincere in the bi-partisan talks that could have helped solve the various issues raised by the opposition. He said that this is the reason as to why the opposition and their supporters will go back to the streets to protest against government policies that are overburdening Kenyans.

“Out of good heart, we had agreed to sit with them but they are not sincere. That is why we have resorted to go back to the streets to protest the government policies that are overburdening Kenyans,” said Mr Odinga.

He instructed his supporters to be ready to fight for their rights and added that on July 3, he will give them a signal and tell them when to resume street demonstrations. He later confirmed that the Azimio leadership has instructed its members to vote against the Finance Bill,2023.
