Chief of Defence Forces Francis Ogolla is dead.
Ogolla, alongside other officials died following the Thursday afternoon helicopter crash.
President William Ruto has officially announced the passing on of the CDF with the other top KDF officials in Elegeyo Marakwet.
The Head of State says the country has lost a gallant soldier who died in line of duty adding that the loss has touched him as the Commander in Chief.
Consequently, the President has announced three days of National Mourning in which the National Flag, The KDF Flag and that of EAC will fly at half-mast.
