Cristiano Ronaldo has insisted returning to Manchester United is the best decision he has ever made after he scored twice on his second debut for the club.
He has highlighted the role his former teammates played in making his decision to return to Old Trafford easier.
Just hours before Manchester United confirmed that they had reached an agreement to re-sign the Portuguese international, Ronaldo looked set to join Manchester City.
However, a conversation with former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson turned the decision in the Red Devils favour.
“I have played with Ole, Fletcher and Michael Carrick, they know me. They know who I am and how I play.”
“It made the decision very easy for me,” Ronaldo told United’s club website.
From his statement, it is clear that Sir Alex Ferguson played an important role in bringing back the five-time Ballon d’Or winner to Manchester United.
