CS Matiang’i’s VIP protector kills wife, later turns gun on self

Police have initiated investigations into an incident where a bodyguard attached to the Interior CS Fred Matiangi’s office allegedly shot and killed his wife before turning the gun on himself.

IG of Police Hillary Mutyambai stated that the bodies of Constable Hudson Wakise and his wife Constable Pauline Wakasa were found in the sitting room at their home.

According to primary investigations, it is believed the two had a domestic disagreement on Tuesday evening afore the incident.

Wakise, who had been off duty since Thursday, resumed back to work yesterday.

He later left at 3 pm and returned to his home near the GSU Camp in Ruaraka.

Eyewitnesses said Wakise arrived home in the evening while his wife was taking supper. The couple argued over Wakasa’s choice to relocate.

He later left, came back and shot the lady in the chest eight times. He then turned the gun on himself.

Their two children aged five and two, however, survived the awful episode.

The bodies of the two were moved to the morgue.

CS Matiang’i today took to Twitter to grieve the two officers labelling their deaths as tragic.

“I am deeply pained by the tragic incident involving PC Hudson Wakise and his wife PC Pauline Wakasa both young and vibrant police officers with brilliant futures tragically ended in their shocking demise. It’s a rude awakening to psychosocial challenges amongst some of the young officers that we have no choice but to now pay greater attention to. My sincere condolences to their families and friends.”
