Most parts of the city have flooded as a result of the heavy downpour that began on Sunday evening all through to Monday morning.
Major roads connecting to the capital were also impassable including The Nairobi Expressway as at 11 pm as Kenyans shared videos of the roads with water at knee-level.
Other parts that experienced the same include South C and Ruai as neighborhoods remained sub-merged for the better part of the night.
In Ruai, most families spent the night in the cold since their houses were flooded and they could not find means of getting the water out.
The rains that were accompanied by storms also led to felling down of trees in places like Dennis Pritt Road in Kilimani.
The Kenya Meteorological Department has said that the rains will continue till Wednesday as most parts of the country are expecting heavy downpour.
