Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has assured all kenyans that the government will diburse National Government Constituency Development Funds (NGCDF) funds in January 2024.
Speaking when he led food distribution exercises at Wangchieng and Nyatoto in Karachuonyo and Suba South constituencies in Homa Bay county,CS Machogu confirmed that the government will release the funds by January 18.
He said that by doing so,this will enable students joining form one to get bursaries for their education.
This comes after the delay in disbursement of NG-CDF caused an uproar among Members of Parliament last week.Several memebers of the National Assembly had opted to protest against the delay.
CS Machagu on Monday 11th said that the government is making efforts to release the funds by next month.
He also assured parents and students and who received their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results that form one selection process is ongoing and will be complicated this week.
He further gave assurance that all students will be placed in secondary schools to effect the government’s 100 per cent transition policy.
