A mysterious house fire in Uasin Gishu County costs a three-year-old life.
According to the parents they say they had left the child together with the other siblings for work as always when the fire broke out.
When the father returned to the house, all he found was a heap of ashes and that’s when he found his three-year-old body burnt to death laying on the sofa.
He said “I tried to save my child, but the smoke was too big for me. My child died a painful death. I can’t even recognize the body. I can’t.”
“When I was leaving the house for work, the kids were out playing and I told them I have gone for work and they said OKAY” the mother said.
On coming back, I had people taking about a plot being on fire and when I reached it was my house on fire. I looked around for my kids and I was told they were all saved but my three-year-old child was not with the rest two.
The mother of the child said that the neighbors told her that they had saved all the children little did she know her little child was nowhere to be seen. They tried to rescue the child but the smoke and fire was huge leaving the child to die amidst watching.
“I tried to save my child but, the fire was huge.’’ Said the mother with agony.
The neighbors tried to safe the suffocating children from the house but we did not know that there was one child sleeping on the sofa.
They are calling for the county government to help the family as this was not a planned case and they have nowhere to lay their heads nor any household goods nor food.
The cause of the fire is unknown as investigations commence.
