Kisii University has suspended second-year students after striking yesterday over fee increment.
This comes after the administration increased fees by Shs 10,000.
The demonstration saw the destruction of property within the campus, necessitating police intervention to restore order.
In an internal memo signed by the University Acting Registrar Academic Affairs, Dr Joash Kerongo, the students were ordered to vacate the premises before 6.30 pm.
“The Senate has resolved to suspend all the second-year students indefinitely and until a further communication is made, “read the statement.
Meanwhile, learning will continue as usual for the other students.
The administration has also put on hold the implementation of the fee hike.
