Manchester United suffer defeat in Champions League opener

Manchester United was surprised by Young Boys as they suffered a shocking 2-1 defeat in their Champions League opener match.

The game started well for Ole Gunnar’s side, with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring his third goal in two games since his sensational return to United.

Manchester United remained 10 men in the 34th minute when Aaron Wan-Bissaka, was shown a straight red card for a high challenge on Christopher Martins.

Young Boys bounced back and took control of the game in the second half.

They found the equalizer in the 66th minute when Moumi Ngamaleu fired home a deflected cross.

United looked to have held on for a point in Switzerland.

However, Young Boys stole the three points in the 5thminute of added time when Jesse Lingard’s awful back pass let substitute Siebatcheu find the net to give his side victory.
