Major services have resumed at Kisii Teaching and Referal Hospital (KTRH) nearly two months after closure due to health workers strike.
Today, the hospital management opened its door to expectant mothers, male and female wards as well as Paediatric.
The hospital’s accident and emergency unit, special clinics, Dental, Palliative and Gender-Based Violence centres too have been opened to the public for use.
The public will also get service in the Radiology, Occupational and Pharmacy units.
Hospital Chief Executive Officer Dr Enock Ondari says the facility will in the next few days resume in offering full services. “We will continue to offer better and quality services.”
The hospital has a capacity of more than 700 beds and receives close to 50 referral cases a day. There are more than 25 delivery cases a day in the facility.
Most locals have been getting medical services from private Hospitals in Kisii town though, services that majority residents have been struggling to afford.
