Caroline Kangogo’s father, Barnaba Kibor, has declined allegations concerning his daughter’s death.
Kibor has declared that his daughter committed suicide, despite the online allegations that she might have been killed.
According to the family, they will not honour her wishes of being cremated but will bury her on Saturday, July 24, 2021.
Meanwhile, neighbours are still unsure about Kangogo’s death since her body was discovered last week at her parents’ home in Elgeyo Marakwet.
According to police reports, Kangogo’s death, by a single gunshot wound, was suicide. Barnaba Kibor, her father, who is a retired police officer, affirmed the same.
“Sitaka uvumi ya watu kusema pengine aliuawa. Yule mtu anajua aliuwawa anaweza kujitokeza na atueleze, sababu ile kitu mimi niliona ni huyu msichana mwenyewe alijiua kulingana na vile tulimpata,” he remarked.
Kibor stated that his daughter had been dropped home the night before her death at 10 pm by a Bodaboda rider.
“Huyo kijana hakujua huyo ni msichana wangu, alimleta tu kama abiria yeyote akakuja akamwacha hapa barabarani karibu 50 meters away kutoka nyumbani,” he said.
Kibor expressed his agony following the public’s speculations and scrutiny of the incident.
Kibor added that in as much as they did not hear the gunshot, Kangogo had locked herself in the bathroom, something that could have been impossible if she was murdered.
