Roberto Firmino to miss Liverpool’s Champions League opener

Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino limped off the pitch just before halftime during the 1-1 draw at home to Chelsea in the Premier League last weekend.

Firmino suffered a hamstring injury and is set to miss Liverpool’s Champions League opener against AC Milan next month.

He underwent scans to ascertain the extent of the damage and results shows that he could resume training after the international break.

Firmino was on the bench for Liverpool’s opening two league fixtures against Norwich City and Burnley.

His first start of the season was at Anfield against Chelsea.
