A form one student aged 15, of Nyabondo Boy’s High School in Nyakach, Kisumu County has died after a pit latrine caved in and collapsed on him while using it.
According to Arita Bwana the County Minister for education, said the rubble caved in with three other students who were lucky to have survived the ordeal.
The three were taken to the hospital and one has been discharged while the two are still admitted but in stable conditions.
Arita said, “We could not say there were any structural defects but it looks like with overtime, the soil underneath had been sinking that’s why the pit sank.”
