Kondele-airport rd. closed after KPC pipe bursts

 

A fuel spillage occurred on Thursday night from a burst pipe owned by Kenya Pipeline Company near Obunga slums, Kisumu causing panic among residents.

Police and KPC authority moved in swiftly to handle the incident preventing any dangers by turning off lines.

Kisumu central sub-county commissioner Hussein Alason Hussein said they have applied restrictive measures to prevent the public from accessing the scene.

He said an escalator was brought to prevent the spillage from draining into the River Kisat draining into Lake Victoria which will cause affect the community and the ecosystem at large.

The cause of the midnight incident has not been established and how many litres of fuel was lost
