At about 5:00 p.m. yesterday, one of the dorms at Buruburu Girls Secondary School in Nairobi caught fire.
The students were observed fleeing through the windows and some were injured as a result.
Carol Maina, the school’s Principal, verified that ten pupils were hurt and were taken to the hospital.
The firefighters came on schedule and were able to quickly put out the fire.
The cause of the fire has yet to be established. The parents who had made their way to the institution, according to Buruburu sub-county police chief Francis Kamau, were asked to leave since the situation was under investigation.
