Transport chief administrative secretary Chris Obure has quit his job to vie for Kisii gubernatorial seat as the Azimio la Umoja candidate
Earlier this morning in a press conference, the former CAS declared his candidature to succeed the seating governor James Ongwae.
Mr Chris Obure stated he is the best suited candidate to become the second governor of Kisii since Hon James Ongwae is set to retire after serving his Two- five year term.
Not new to the political scene, Hon. Obure served as the Member of Parliament for Bobasi in 2007 later served as the first Kisii senator in 2013 to 2017 when he lost the gubernatorial seat in 2017 when he challenged Ongwae.
A trend seen, several Chief Administrative Secretary and Cabinet Secretaries have stepped down to vie for political seats
