200 people to be granted access at Kalembe Ndile’s burial

Former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile is being laid to rest today.

According to his family, following the strict COVID -19  protocols, only 200 people will be allowed to attend the funeral.

The cortège left the Lee Funeral Home early Friday morning, heading to his rural home in Mbui Nzaui, Makueni County.

President Kenyatta is set to attend the funeral.

Notables from the region including Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu, among others are also expected to attend.

Ndile, who was the director of Tanathi Waterworks,  passed away on Sunday, May 30.

He passed away at the age of 57 in Nairobi hospital following a long time illness that he had been battling.

His death was confirmed by his firstborn son Antony Kioko.

A couple of leaders have since sent their message of condolences to the family.

President Uhuru Kenyatta through his condolence message praised the late Kalembe as a clever, determined, and practical politician who rose through the ranks by sheer hard work.
