Chaos Erupt in Kisii County Assembly as a standoff over Speaker’s impeachment continues

Hired goons Tuesday evening smashed vehicles belonging to a section of Ward Representatives seeking to advance House Speaker David Kombo’s impeachment motion.

Hell broke loose after several Ward Representatives walked out as they sought to address the media.

Police who had been deployed to the Assembly precincts watched as the goons smashed cars and at the same beating MCAs who had walked out of the Assembly.

Nominated MCA Eric Janganya had his car smashed and managed to escape the fracas.

Enforcement officers guarding the Assembly had been given orders to stop journalists from accessing the Assembly.

We have since established that a special ad-hoc committee has been established to probe the speaker.

“The committee formed is mandated to probe the former speaker’s conduct and undertake lifestyle audits on them. This Assembly, under the former speaker, had sunk to all its all-time low and it is time it is redeemed,” said Moticho MCA Evans Mokoro.

Kiogoro Ward Rep Samuel Apoko told Mr Kombo to stay away from the precincts of the Assembly until his case has been determined.

The Assembly Public Service Board that Kombo chairs are accused of abuse of office following failure by the board to pay the insurer MCAs’ Life and Accident funds.
