Cristiano Ronaldo will wear Manchester United’s iconic No.7 again after Edinson Cavani agreed to surrender the shirt.
Cavani began the campaign with the iconic No.7 worn by George Best, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Section M of the league’s rulebook dictates that ‘’a player will retain his shirt number throughout the season for which it was allocated.’’
However, when Daniel James moved to Leeds United, it freed up the No.21 shirt, the same number Cavani wears for the Uruguayan national team.
Edinson Cavani will now switch to No.21 at Manchester United.
Cristiano thanked the Uruguayan striker for the incredible gesture.
