Deputy Governor Amos Nyaribo’s takes over after Governor Nyagarama's death

After the death of Nyamira County Governor John Nyagarama, his deputy Amos Nyaribo will
have to take the task of taking Nyamira County forward as governor.
However, Nyaribo will have to take some time to settle and start from where his boss left the
county as many projects were part of Nyagarama’s are yet to be complete.
At the moment, Nyamira County Government is stalled in terms of development, unlike other
county governments which have gone steps ahead in development, as some groups condemn the
county leadership of failed development.
Nyaribo will however need to focus on projects that, Nyagarama established before his demise,
complete them and then start up his own as the county boss.
Health facilities across the county had been put in the line for improvement by being equipped.
This includes the recently commissioned doctors’ plaza at the Nyamira County Referral Hospital
which is almost complete.
Two health-related projects which include a mother and child centre and an infectious disease
centre that was launched by Nyagarama a month ago construction is yet to kick off.
Nyagarama also had established the construction of the Nyamira County headquarters back in
2018, whose construction is ongoing. Nyaribo needs to keep an eye and ensure completion of the
same.
The cabinet issue also needs to be resolved as some of the cabinet members in the county
government were recently in court to seek to be reinstated after Nyagarama fired them. Nyaribo
will deal with the issue before reshuffling the cabinet to enable smooth operation and
development in the county.
