Man succumbs to injuries on suspected police brutality in Kisii

A young man identified as Bramwell Jimmy, 27 succumbed to injuries allegedly inflicted on him
by officers based at Kisii Central Police station today morning.
Bramwell died Tuesday morning while receiving treatment at Seventh Day Adventist Church-
owned Hospital; Nyanchwa Mission Health Centre.
It is not clear how the deceased ended up in police custody minutes after he had left a popular
drinking joint in Kisii town.
A friend, Wycliffe Omondi (DJ Caster) who was also clobbered in the incident says they had
gone to the station to rescue one of the ladies who had also been arrested early on.
According to Omondi, the two were harassed and beaten by officers known to him. They were
later booked into the Police cells and released on Sunday morning.
Kisii County Commander Jebel Munene says he has launched investigations into the incident.
"We conclude the investigations in due course."
The deceased friend who were protesting the death dumped the body at the police station. Police
officers later took the body to the morgue.
