Residents of Rongai, Nakuru County barred up a section of the Nakuru- Eldama ravine road in the early mornings demonstrating against the government for allowing tomato and flower farms to irrigate their farms with the Rongai river waters.
The said waters of the river have been a source of conflict between the government and residents of Nakuru having that they had been denied access to the waters.
Broken carts and rocks were strewn across the road forcing drivers on the route to make a detour upon reaching the junction.
According to reports, the bitter demonstrations have broken water pumps generating water towers of Mount Kenya, Mau Complex, Aberdare and the Upper Lake Victoria have been affected by human activities.
