Four invigilators on Monday morning failed to show up at Kisii Primary school exam centre.
Early Learning and Basic Education Principal Secretary Dr Julius Jwan who was in the County to supervise exam distribution demanded to know the whereabouts of the said invigilators who had not reported to the centre way past 8 am.
“There is no way we can have government officers who show up at work when they want. This is a government process that we must all respect,” said Dr Jwan.
“The Teachers Service Commission will take necessary disciplinary action,” he added.
The PS turned away one of the invigilators who had rushed to the centre. The examination officer came in driving but the PS could here none of his explanations.
The centre has eight exam rooms. Only four out of the eight invigilators had shown up at the school by the time the PS arrived at the institution.
It is not clear why the four decide to abscond duty.
