Keep off criminal activities this festive season

Nyamira County Commissioner Amos Mariba has warned residents to keep off criminal activities this festive season.

Anyone who will participate in any illegal activities will face the full force of the law, especially this festive season.

“You have all been hearing how criminal gangs have been taking advantage of curfew hours to cause trouble to our people,” said. Mariba.

The security boss was speaking at the Nyamira prison when he presided over handing of avocado seedlings to farmers over the weekend, where he said groups of criminals have emerged and are giving residents sleepless nights.

“Some of these gangs have police attire and we are aware of that, but let it be a warning, we will not spare you,” he reiterated.

Residents have sighted the curfew hours as the ideal time for the gangs in various parts of the county to terrorize them especially at night when police have retired from their regular patrols.

“We are calling on the county commissioner to ensure more police officers are deployed in the area to beef up security especially at night since it is the time when gangs take over when police are not at work especially after the curfew hours,” said Geoffrey Michael who was attacked recently.

In the past one week gangs have caused fear among residents in Nyamira town and its environs which have prompted the residents to seek the intervention of Nyamira County Commissioner.
