Police in Kisii County are investigating the killings of four people at Sugubo village in Nyamache.
This is due to a long standing land tussle for over 40 years between two brothers.
According to reports, one of the brothers died last week under unclear circumstances something that led to angry neighbors coming out to lynch the other family members.
Enraged locals used crude weapons, including fork jembes, arrows and machetes, to lynch the three.
According to OCPD Kipkulei Kipkemoi, the three who were lynched were farm workers who died on the spot were one of the guards who escaped with serious injuries is receiving treatment at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital.
A charred body was retrieved burnt to ashes inside one of the three houses.
Three houses were torched by agitated members of the community in addition to destruction of unknown amount of valuables.
The four bodies have been taken to Nyamache Sub County Hospital awaiting an autopsy reports.
