Manchester City has unveiled statues of Vincent Kompany and David Silva who served as captains during their time as citizens.
Both statues outside the East Stand of the Etihad Stadium celebrate the achievements of players who joined the club that had not won any trophy after more than 30 years and who helped them win four premier league titles.
David Silva who left in 2020 after scoring 77 goals in 435 appearances said, ‘’Being at City changed my life. I’m proud of what we did together and I feel emotional that it has been recognized like this.’’
Vincent Kompany who played for the citizens 360 times added, ‘’You never have time to look back at something you’ve achieved and for the first time I can look back and say; hey, it was cool, it was pretty unique.’’
