Police in Kisii have launched an investigation into a gruesome killing of a middle-aged woman whose body was dumped few meters from Kisii police station
According to the police report, the body of the woman showed signs of rape with deep cuts around her neck
Kisii based activists have raised have raised concerns over the rise of cases of women being attacked and have called for speedy investigations into the killing and worse dumped some meters away from the police station that is supposed to protect them.
The body of the deceased was taken to Kisii and Teaching Referral Morgue waiting for autopsy
They have condemned the act terming that Gender based violence for women has been on the rise despite the fact that they celebrated international women’s day just recently.
They also said issues rerating to women should not be only for women alone as men too need to rise up and help talk about women issues and embrace them as we strive to stop Gender based violence as one..
The activists are calling for thorough and speedy investigations so as to stop such incidents in the county and elsewhere as crucial evidence was still at the crime scene.
