Nyamira County Government has received drugs worth Kshs 32 million for all the health facilities to curb the ongoing shortage of drugs.
Governor Amos Nyaribo said the county government had procured drugs worth Ksh 16 million in October but they were not sufficient and hence another batch was flagged off at the county headquarters yesterday.
Nyaribo called upon the residents to be patient as the county government works towards ensuring the residents receive healthcare without strain.
“We had procured some drugs last month and opted to go for more because we want our residents to access the required health care without constraining,” Nyaribo said.
He spoke at the County Headquarters in Nyamira Town when he received the drugs consignment that will be distributed to the various health facilities in the county.
“By the fact that there has been a lot of inconveniences, we want to ensure that every county resident gets access to healthcare which is our key mandate because development can only be achieved with healthy people,” Nyaribo said.
